Nephelie wins funding competition with nCOMM

Nephelie Technologies Limited announced today that it has been a winner of Innovate UK's the 'Transformative Technologies' funding competition for its project entitled: "nCOMM: A wireless network for volumetric video production". 

In the nCOMM project Nephelie will develop a wireless network solution (called nCOMM) in collaboration with Bristol University's High-Performance Networks Group. The solution is designed to support time-sensitive and demanding workflows for creating volumetric video content using Neural Radiance Fields (NeRFs) for augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) applications.

The project will deliver a prototype of nCOMM wireless network using the company's NeRF-creation tool and design an efficient workflow that produces high-quality 3D renderings over the prototype nCOMM wireless network in near real-time.

The £20 million 'Transformative Technologies' funding competition attracted proposals from hundreds of UK-registered small and medium businesses developing "affordable, adoptable and investable innovations in transformative technologies".
